Day Hikes

Ngare Ndare Forest is a lush indigenous forest at the foothills of Mt. Kenya. Azure pools glisten at the bottom of waterfalls and 200 year old trees stretch into the canopy supporting a rich variety of bird and animal life. The forest is a vital corridor that links the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to Mount Kenya, and one which elephants have been using for centuries.

It was a nice experience going to this place. The journey started in Nairobi
at 6 am and we traveled via the Nairobi – Meru Highway. The scenery was beautiful en-route. I also saw some wild animals like girraffes and elephants. After approximately 5 hrs we reached Ngare Ndare.

We hiked to the waterfalls a 45 minutes distance. The trek was moderate and not strenuous perfect for inexperienced hikers. The waterfall was amazing and it fell into perfect natural blue water which we swam and dove in.

The canopy walk which is 40 feet high and 450 metres long (the longest canopy walk in Eastern Africa) was breathtaking an experience every adventurer should seek. The lunch was delicious and sumptuous. Thank you @Pamzi Safaris Kenya for organizing the trip.
